Are you a developer or cloud engineer with a passion for infrastructure automation, site reliability, or improving developer experience? Smaato is looking for you to join our Systems Engineering team and help our engineering teams excel in automation, continuous delivery, infrastructure, monitoring, and operations. We design, build, and deploy highly-available Linux- and cloud-based solutions, as well as develop software tools that support the mission of our entire Engineering organization. This highly-technical, hands-on role requires breadth and depth of expertise in managing infrastructure and applications in the cloud. We are looking for a team player, willing to collaborate in a fast-paced environment, and able to work independently with high self-motivation.

What you’ll do:

  • Architect, modernize, deploy, and operate foundational infrastructure and services utilized by our engineering teams

  • Design and develop software, tools, and concepts for automation and deployments in the cloud

  • Build resilient and scalable solutions using cloud APIs and Open Source tools, as well as enhancing them as needed

  • Promote testing, security, monitoring, logging, and continuous delivery/deployment as essential parts of your software development practices


What We’ll Need:

  • Solid experience in cloud-based operations at scale

  • Proficiency developing in a modern language like Go, Rust, or Python

  • Comfortable working in an API and Infrastructure as Code driven environment

  • Good understanding of relevant networking technologies and distributed systems

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent

  • Full business proficiency in English


  • Strong experience with AWS products and services

  • Expert-level experience with Linux/UNIX system internals and networking

  • Experience with automation and configuration management tools like Ansible, CloudFormation, Jenkins, Puppet, and Terraform.

  • Steady contributions to one or more open source projects
